From March 22 to April 05, the premiere of S. Prokofiev’s opera based on his own libretto based on the novel of the same name by Valery Bryusov “The Fiery Angel” will take place at the Royal Theater of Madrid. Dmitry Ulyanov will perform the role of Doctor of Philosophy and Medicine Johann Faust. Together with Dmitry, the following will appear on stage: Aushrine Studinte and Elena Popovskaya (Renata), Dmitry Golovnin and Vsevolod Grivnov (Agrippa of Nettesheim / Mephistopheles), Dimitris Tiliakos and Lee Merloz (Ruprecht) and other wonderful artists.
The orchestra will be conducted by Gustavo Gimeno, who is chief conductor of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra and music director of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. The director of the play was Calixto Bieito, with whom Dmitry had already worked this theater season in the production of “War and Peace” in Geneva.
