“The bass Dmitry Ulyanov performed the part of Basilio, performing his role in relief, with a lot of semantic nuances, which was facilitated by the singer’s beautiful, voluminous, powerful voice. The stage interaction of the performer with his partners added credibility to what was happening on stage.”

“Opera is replete with colorful characters and vocal hits that have brought fame to more than one generation of artists. However, in the Bolshoi production there is only one work that is truly worthy of the country's first theater - Basilio, performed by the MAMT premier and guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theater Dmitry Ulyanov. In terms of singing and acting, his colorful music teacher is several heads superior to his more significant colleagues.”

“The best basses among our colleagues were the Italian Giovanni Romeo (Bartolo) and especially Dmitry Ulyanov, discharged from the musical theater named after K.S. Stanislavsky and Vl.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko for the role of Basilio. He brilliantly performed the main hit of the opera, the aria “On Slander,” and was the only one who received a standing ovation. »
