We present to your attention the announcement of the new season of Dmitry Ulyanov!
Dmitry will open the 2018-2019 season in his home theater: September 14, 15 and 16 on the stage of the MAMT named after. K. S. Stanislavsky and Vl. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko will host the long-awaited and beloved performances of the public “War and Peace” with Dmitry Ulyanov in the role of Field Marshal Kutuzov, for which in 2013 Dmitry was nominated for the “Golden Mask” in the opera/male role category. The play was staged at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theater in 2012 by A. B. Titel, the main director of this theater. The musical director and conductor of the performance is Felix Korobov.
The next 100th season is the anniversary season for MAMT, and Dmitry will take an active creative part in various festive events, including performing at the anniversary gala concert in December 2018.
In October 2018, Dmitry will begin work on the role of Basilio in a new production of G. Rossini’s opera “The Barber of Seville” (conductor-producer - Pier Giorgio Morandi, stage director - Evgeny Pisarev), and already on November 3, viewers will be able to see the premiere on the New Stage Bolshoi Theater. He had previously sung this role at the Opera House of Marseille, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Teatro Liceo in Barcelona, and most recently in Seville on the 200th anniversary of the opera. He also sang this part in his theater, in a historical production by K. S. Stanislavsky himself.
In January and June 2019, Dmitry will perform the role of King Philip II at the Bolshoi Theater in the already beloved play “Don Carlos”. Also in the 2018-2019 season, viewers will be able to hear Dmitry in the fundamental bass roles of Boris Izmailov (November 2018) and Boris Godunov on the Historical Stage of the Bolshoi Theater.
In February 2019, Dmitry will go to Amsterdam on the stage of the famous Concertgebouw Hall to take part in the performance of M. Mussorgsky’s vocal cycle “Songs and Dances of Death” orchestrated by D. Shostakovich. Conductor: Zan Jang.
Next, from the end of February 2019, Dmitry will begin rehearsals for the role of Boris Timofeevich Izmailov in a new production of D. Shostakovich’s opera “Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk” on the stage of the Opera Bastille in Paris. The performances will take place in April 2019, directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski, and Ingo Metzmacher will conduct the orchestra.
In July 2019, Dmitry will perform the already familiar parts of 4 villains (Lindorff, Coppelius, Dapertutto, Doctor Miracle) in J. Offenbach’s opera “The Tales of Hoffmann” on the stage of the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing, China. Performances will take place on July 10, 12 and 14, 2019.
