Premiere of the opera Khovanshchina by M.P. Mussorgsky on the stage of the Grand Theatre of Geneva, March 2025.

On March 25, the premiere of the opera Khovanshchina by M.P. Mussorgsky took place with great success at the Grand Theatre of Geneva, directed by Calixto Bieito, in which Dmitry Ulyanov performed the part of Prince Ivan Khovansky. Dmitry's partners on stage were such wonderful artists as Arnold Rutkowski (Andrei Khovansky), Dmitry Golovnin (Prince Golitsyn), Vladislav Sulimsky (Boyarin Shaklovity), Reiann Bryce-Davis (Marfa), Taras Shtonda (Dosifey) and others. The orchestra was conducted by Alejo Perez.

Performances in Grand Theater of Geneva took place on March 25, 27 and 30, and will also be shown on April 1 and 3, 2025.

We also present to your attention short press reviews:

"The cast certainly stands out for its bright and energetic performance by Dmitry Ulyanov, and Khovansky's vocal flourish is as sharp as it is impressive. He has already distinguished himself in the last two productions by Calixto Bieito (War and Peace, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk), demonstrating remarkable technique in both vocal performance and acting."

"Powerful bass even in laughter, very well delivered, Dmitry Ulyanov dominates the stage and borders on madness in the image of the cheerful, arrogant and tyrannical Khovansky"
