“Boris Godunov” and “The Golden Cockerel in Germany. January-February 2024

Back in December 2023, Dmitry Ulyanov traveled to Germany to sing the two title bass roles in two different operas in Munich and Berlin.

At the Bavarian State Opera he performed the role of Boris Godunov in the opera of the same name by M. Mussorgsky. Performances took place on January 14, 17, 19 and 21, 2024. The orchestra was conducted by Dima Slobodenyuk, director - Calixto Bieito. Dmitry's partners on stage were Miryam Mesak (Ksenia), Emily Sierra (Fedor), Evgeny Akimov (Prince Vasily Ivanovich Shuisky), Dmitro Popov (Grigory Otrepiev) and others.

And on January 28 and February 7, Dmitry once again performed the role of Tsar Dodon in a production of Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Golden Cockerel (directed by Barry Koski, conducted by James Gaffigan) on the stage of the Komische Oper in Berlin. Along with Dmitry, the performance featured such singers as James Kryshak (Stargazer), Jens Larsen (Voevoda Polkan), Ksenia Proshina (Queen of Shemakha), Margarita Nekrasova (Keykeeper Amelfa), Julia Schaffenrath (Golden Cockerel), Pavel Valuzhin (Tsarevich Guidon) and Hubert Zapior (Tsarevich Athos).

Also, “The Golden Cockerel” with Dmitry in the title role is scheduled for March 2, 7 and 20, 2024. on the stage of the Komische Oper. Details at the link.
