On November 23, 2021, at the age of 92, a war veteran, legend of the Ural vocal school, People’s Artist of the RSFSR, professor of the Ural State Conservatory named after M. P. Mussorgsky, Nikolai Nikolaevich Golyshev, died.

He was a man of great talent, a unique teacher who, during his long creative and teaching career, taught an incredible number of now famous artists adored by the public, soloists of leading Russian and foreign theaters, head of the department of solo singing at the UGK. M.P. Mussorgsky, where Dmitry Ulyanov also studied at one time, and Nikolai Nikolaevich was one of the first who saw in Dmitry the future star of the world opera stage and influenced his initial formation and development as an artist and singer. The repertoire of the unforgettable lyric baritone Nikolai Nikolaevich included more than fifty roles, and the pinnacle of his work, undoubtedly, was the part of Eugene Onegin, sung by the master 276 times.
