At the last ceremony, the award finally found its hero - Dmitry Ulyanov received the “CASTA DIVA” award in the category “best singer of the year” for his performance of the role of Ivan Khovansky in the production of the opera by M.P. Mussorgsky's "Khovanshchina" on the stage of the MAMT named after. K.S. Stanislavsky and Vl.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko in 2015

The award was also presented to Ildar Abdrazakov, the 2016 laureate (singer of the year). The winners of this year were Valery Gergiev (“Cavalier of the Opera”), Aida Garifullina (singer of the year), Vladislav Sulimsky (singer of the year) and others. The concert program was imbued with the spirit of Italian opera, but not without wonderful arias from operas by Russian composers: Dmitry Ulyanov appeared in the images of Galitsky and Khan Konchak from Borodin’s opera “Prince Igor”, Agunda Kulaeva and Alexey Tatarintsev gave the audience a duet of Konchakovna and Vladimir Igorevich from the same opera, and Vladislav Sulimsky performed Tomsky’s ballad from “The Queen of Spades” by P.I. Tchaikovsky.

The concert was hosted by the initiator of the award and the chairman of its jury, Mikhail Lvovich Muginshtein, and the director of the New Opera Theater, Dmitry Sibirtsev.

“The other guests, former Casta Diva award winners, delighted with their magnificent performances and excellent vocal form. Especially the bass Dmitry Ulyanov, who appeared both in the image of Prince Galitsky and in the image of Khan Konchak from the opera “Prince Igor” by Borodin. Ulyanov’s amazingly clear diction and artistry delighted the audience no less than his emotionality (at the beginning of Galitsky’s aria, the ring from his finger flew up towards the orchestra). »
